It’s a good mobile adaptation but to this day, the ui gives me anxiety lol.
This app has been acting buggy recently. Showing “34” assignments in my “to do” when I know and can see that there’s only 4. Where is it getting the other 30?! I’ve made sure it’s updated, tried closing it in the background, logging out and back in…the issue persists. It will even pop up that I have 34 notifications as well. Previously this app was great for mobile, seems we’ve not paid attention to mobile in a minute.
Not sure what happened, this app used to work great! But with this new semester it doesn’t work for me anymore. Loading up the app just says “failed to load login page” “go back and make sure you enter a valid institution name” I know for a fact UCF is valid so I don’t know why I can no longer use this app on my phone.
I have ADHD and OCD. Things have to look a certain way and be directly Infront of me in one place for me to work. I didn't go to a traditional college, all my teachers are independent and have their own sites. It's hard to keep track. I'm weeks behind on so much. Then I remembered using Canvas in school. I figured I could make a teacher account, import/create my own curriculum, then sign in as a student and do the work. But there's no longer free account creation.
I don’t know if this is specific to my university but we’re constantly experiencing server outages. This is unacceptable because I can’t access my course materials or submit assignments.

Holy cow, this needs an update for supporting Mac. It is okay for downloading files, and responding on discussions after using apps like word to write the big items on. However, quizzes are TERRIBLE. Please please I am needing it.

THE NEW UI IS OVERCOMPLICATED IT MAKES IT 10 TIMES HARDER TO KNOW WHAT IS DUE. CHANGE IT BACK TO THE OLD UI FROM EARLY THIS YEAR
Keeps giving me an error
why is this the only way to access canvas on mobile??? canvas for desktop runs just fine as a site but then breaks apart when looked at through mobile. it doesnt even have to be mobile-friendly, just let us use web version instead of this waste of space app.
It says I have 36 ‘to dos’, but I have zero. The 36 never goes away, and it’s driving me insane. Now if I actually get a real notification, I’m not going to believe it. Please fix this.
Please please please please fix it I can’t click any of them off despite them being completed it’s terrible I have 100+ notifications and it’s only week 3
Doesn’t self refresh. If my professor uploads something new or I join a new course, I have to sign in and out of my account multiple times to be bale to see it. I have missed assignments and almost didn’t drop a class because they simply didn’t appear on my end. Closing the app does nothing. Only thing that works SOMETIMES is signing in and out. Half the time it doesn’t even fix it.

I can’t log in. The app gives me an error page each time I try clicking on my institution, so I tried using the QR code and got an error message that way as well. I have cleared the cache as well as deleting the app entirely and redownloading to no avail. When I try clicking on the help page through the app I also get an error page. There is just no being able to use the app and I am stuck using the webpage. Edit: After reading some reviews it looks like this app just doesn’t work on the iPad after the newest update. Come on now Canvas get it together. If you have an app on the App Store then it should be usable by all devices. This is ridiculous. I should be able to use the app from my iPad without having all these issues and it should be the same for everyone else using an iPad.
This app causes depression
Thank you designers for this very helpful app! I’m a college student and when I’m not on my laptop, it’s very helpful to use the app on my phone to check my “To Do” tab. However, now that school has started for me, I noticed that many features of the app are different again. I would love if the ”To Do” tab has the course name in bold again and to use the terms for the due date “Today”, “Tomorrow”, etc.
I despise doing work on canvas. So annoying.
I don’t like how in my to do’s it does show all my assignments. It use to show all of them. I am taking 8 classes that use to help me keep track. Please fix it 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Why I can’t login anymore not through school not through QR code?!?!?
Really I just hate canvas but also it can lag a lot and it breaks normally also it’s not the best with notifications and the feeling of having 20 things to turn in before the next day is a nightmare
I love Canvas so much. I think it’s one of the better school apps out there but recently there’s been this bug with the to do list it will say I have like 28 things to do when I have like eight things to do in and I have to keep opening it and closing it for it to say the right thing and I’ve updated the app and it’s still an issue. it’s very annoying
please stop updating the app and rearranging the entire layout. It’s already an act of God to try and find assignments and comments. You make life so much harder.
Disappointed in the new update and I can’t get into any of my courses. And the welcome message to canvas in the main dashboard will not GO AWAY.
Really excellent app that helps students through their years in university. I just wanted to ask if it’s possible to switch between the old layout and the new one and vice versa because on Friday, I was on the new layout and switched on the old one by mistake. Now I can’t go back to the new layout even though in PC, I can switch freely between the old and new one. So please, add the switch for the phone too. Thanks in advance.
Canvas works in Safari and on my phone, but the iPad Canvas app gives ‘redirect_uri does not match.’ It works perfectly on my phone but is inaccessible on the Canvas app from my iPad?? Can you check the Canvas iOS app/SSO redirect URI configuration? Maybe that’s the issue. This kind of basic stuff should really be fixed before putting a service out. Especially for one that isn’t optional to have.
Ever since you guys updated the ui it has been so glitchy. I cant mark assignments completed in my to-do. I also get an invitation at the too to join a course but whenever i click accept it keeps giving me a failure message, its weird because im already joined in that course. Plz fix ur app!!
This app has been really useful throughout my grade 5. I can see assignments pop up right as my teacher creates them. I also can see grades without having to wait for school the next day. It’s also helped with finishing certain assignments on the go.
There are very few things that can make you make you want to commit the worst atrocities like canvas can. I hate everything this company stands for and anyone who uses it I hope till the end of your days a mass exodus of pain and suffering befalls you and everyone you hold dear for creating this abomination of BS. The worst UI and holy I could go on and on. Why anyone would use this over google classroom is beyond me. Count your days
This is so annoying because it keeps saying I have 30 to dos but I only have 5 please fix it it’s so annoying and the app has been so dang slow.
It gets the job done but it could be better
All my children’s grades show not submitted. But they are submitted. And they’ve been graded.
I love this app I just wish the app for MacBook worked like it does on my phone. Hopefully we will be able to use the app on MacBook instead of the browser in the near future.
I love Canvas because it makes it easy to keep track of grades and do assignments. It tells you what your teacher’s names is and it’s just a great website to keep track of due work. You can put any school you are in.✨✨❤️❤️❤️🤓
This app gives me bad memories of the algebra class I took where im pretty sure the teacher though I was mentally delayed + bombed the exam, good app though
Logging into the app is extremely difficult for some reason. It worked fine months ago but i tried logging in again and no matter what school district i pick it shows an error. Trying the QR log in also does not work, i tried refreshing the QR multiple times and each time it gives an error. App is fine for the most part, classes are easy to see and assignments are easy to keep track of.

it’s great on mobile but it’s not useable on ipad which is an extreme issue considering it’s a major device a lot of people use for schoolwork

App overall is fine, but every time I try to log into my account on my phone, (QR Code, and searching for my school) An error shows up. And it didn’t start happening until it got hacked, and I had to delete the app from my phone. Sooo, maybe that could be it. But definitely weird, and please fix this!

I love this new update on the app on the phone this is what you called organization and the quotes were needed to keep us moving and the welcoming good morning and good afternoon and good evening with our names is so so great keep it this way next add some themes we can change it to which will be crazy and the app on the laptop and iPad I love it but keep it like that with the little astronaut and the planet so so cute
Just noticed a new update that has some updates. Main difference is the new user friendly dash board, customizable and I love the lay out!
Between getting hacked and having horrible UI updates I cannot wait to graduate and finally be free from this god awful app. Would rate lower if I could.
The app crashes and won't load when I tap on it. Fix this.
