This is the best app I’ve ever experienced it helps me learn new words test my brain help my friends and educates me to have more learning skills and I have a few conversations!! Thanks Duolingo for everything!!
(Only 5 star to get on top!) I think this is a useful tool to use for learning a language. It helps! BUT: They format it so you need to use “energy” to do a lesson, which you only get 25 of max. They take 1 hour to recharge for 1 energy, which takes a long time to get enough for a lesson again. (usually 10-12 energy) it also makes it so when you want to master a lesson, you need exactly 25 energy or else it stops you at 0 which is the last question, and says “ would you like to purchase more energy?” I think the energy system is dumb and pointless. Please heed my warnings.
It’s a good app you can learn many words it’s just that you have energy and all those other things so you can’t actually have fun doing it
I absolutely LOVE doing Duolingo! Since I am really good at a lot of stuff (not to brag), I like learning new things! And their tacos at their taqueria? Delish! I absolutely have loved this app so far, and thank you for making it! It’s really fun, and experimental to learn new languages and chess! 🙏🏽
I have used Duolingo for a long time, but the recent updates have completely compromised the educational integrity of the app. The shift from the Hearts system to the Energy system is a massive downgrade.Forcing users to drain a "battery" which bottoms out whether you get every answer correct or wrong believe me it had gotten bad over the years but it is at its lowest right now you’d be better off learning from a YouTube video than wasting your time with these 10 minute a day caps.
So I really like duolingo but it’s kind of annoying bec of that battery thing bec I wanna do a lot of lessons but I can’t really do that
I love learning another language! I feel like it would be useful for a trip maybe, but I wish it would teach you basic stuff too. I still love it though and do it every day!

Why is this game so fun or I don’t think it’s a game it’s a learning. You can learn languages, math, chess and music and you can learn many languages. You can learn Japanese Spanish Chinese French all kinds of languages.
Amazing app! Love the intention. But one thing I HATE is when I’ll be on the last question and run out of energy. And I’m not getting super. But it will put me on the screen and then once it’s drained my energy and lost my progress it will let me get 5 free energy. I want to be able to get that free energy when I’ve run out. Like maybe just a setting that makes it so it automatically claims? Or a button on that screen that’s like “Oop! You ran out of energy! Get super or lose ur progress!”
Duolingo is cool and all but every time I miss a Spanish lesson it always gets like a matter whatever it sucks and I hate it and then the title looks weird. For some reason he does weird stuff for some reason reason and yeah the mascot is weird and every time that I try to learn their stupid ads at the end and then it’s very distracting and Duolingo is always on my butt notification in my phone and it sucks so that’s why I’m reading it one star
A really easy and fun way to learn. There are so many languages you can choose from but also it shows things like math and chess as well!

This app is outrageously annoying which its attempt to be cute and or funny or whatever it’s trying to accomplish. I’m currently way behind in my language studies simply because I can’t stand the UI/characters and how they “treat” me, the user. Please please please have a switch so we can disable this crazy childish guilt fest that it’s now become

Quizlet used to be awesome - and free. I’m not sure why the subscriptions are so expensive… they barely give you anything for what they’re worth. The only thing that helps a person to study is the learn section, but to get the unlimited you have to get a PLUS subscription. And there is no great features to that either and it is almost $50 a year for something AI can do for free. B.S.

Before we continue. . . . Press and hold to confirm you are human(and not a bot). That’s all this app offers. If the only function is to confirm that I’m human, it works. Otherwise it doesn’t work. All I can do is prove that I’m not a bot by holding a button on the screen over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. In the brief glimpses I see of other features, it doesn’t appear to be synced with the web version of what I’ve been studying. Mostly it’s like some kind of social experiment to see how many times I’ll keep holding the button on the screen to prove I’m human.

Learning a new language as a 73yo boomer was a real challenge using 3x5 cards. I thought, “There’s gotta be a better way.” Then, I found Quizlet. I imported my vocab MS Word list, and I’ve been using Quizlet ever since. It has much more utility than I currently need, but as a school teacher of 32 years, I can definitely see how useful it would have been for my classes. I’m using my iPad and the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I wish I could alphabetize my flashcards using the “Edit” screen or using cluck-and-drag to reorder items.

I love Quizlet, its always been recommended to me by other teachers and students. I love how easy and accessible it is to use.
I used to love using quizlet to help me study it was my #1 took awhile back. trying to use it now is pointless, anything you do you have to pay for and the app is not helpful if you only use the free version
This app is a rlly good study app the only annoying thing is that it always asks me to update to premium or what ever they call it and the amount of times you do a learn session or a test are limited if you don’t

Do NOT purchase a subscription in the app. If need be do it in the website. The app advertised a 7 day free trial for the $45 annual subscription, it in fact did NOT give me a free trial and also charged me almost $64 within SECONDS. Good app just poor service. ALSO you still receive unskippable ads even when subscribed.
The app is solid and deserves a higher rating, but there is an obviously intentional dark UX pattern in the trial subscription process. You promise a 3-day free trial, but once the subscription is confirmed, you immediately charge the full subscription amount instead. This is intentionally misleading.
Holy cow, this needs an update for supporting Mac. It is okay for downloading files, and responding on discussions after using apps like word to write the big items on. However, quizzes are TERRIBLE. Please please I am needing it.
